Breaking: Students portal has been reopened

After much appeal by students for an extension of the deadline for tuition fee payments, the school management has finally considered the appeals and reopened the undergraduate portal.

Barely four days to exams, LAUTECH students rallied together to appeal to the school management to extend the deadline for payment of tuition fees. According to Oyedeji Ahmed (Lautech mouthpiece), who organized the congress which was held at 250LT on Friday, the deadline for payment of tuition fees was yesterday, Friday, March 18.  After being granted audience by the school management, all indications showed that they were hell bent on the ‘no school fees, no exam’ policy. According to an unconfirmed circular, tuition fee receipt will be part of the requirements to gain entry into the exam halls. However, he said there is still a slight probability that the portal will be reopened. According to our source, the Dean of Students Affairs has joined to appeal to the School management to reopen the portal for defaulters to pay. JAMB 2017: Sale of UTME form will begin on Monday [Download Guideline]

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have announced that the sale of  UTME form will start from Monday, March 20, till Wednesday, April 19th 2017, while registration closes on Saturday 22 April 2017.  This announcement was made in document published on the board’s official website . It also stated that for DIRECT ENTRY, the application will be on sale from Sunday, April 23, 2017. The form will cost Five Thousand Naira (₦5,000) only, however, Candidates are also, as usual, to pay Five Hundred Naira (₦500) only to obtain the reading text- 'In Dependence' for UTME candidates and ''The Last Days at Forcados High School'' for Direct Entry Candidates. The Board will mount a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centres to prepare and familiarise INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Fake news? Report claiming that a student was stabbed has been stated to be false

Early Tuesday, a report claiming that Balogun Aminat, a 200L student of Department of Agricultural Extention and Rural Development, was declared wanted for allegedly stabbing another student, went viral on social media. The report, originally published by Lautechportal.com and Lautechamebo.com, was later stated to be false. After facing major backlash from students for the flase news, the two campus blogs retracted the story and made a public apology. They said 'none of the students [mentioned] was stabbed' and that the case had been settled at the Students' Affairs. Defending himself, one of the bloggers said although he did not witness the incident, he got several message from ‘eyewitnesses,’ which prompted him to publish the story. However, it is still unclear at this time what really happened that birthed these allegations, in the first place.

The final timetable for the 2015/2016 Harmattan semester examinations, which will start on Monday, March 20,  has been released. The new document was published via email by the Examination Committee, Tuesday, March 14. Below are downloadable copies of the new timetable. Download and check for any adjustments. LAUTECH Library to start 24 hours service today

LAUTECH Olusegun Oke Library will begin 24 hours service today, Monday, March 13. This was revealed in a circular pasted at the entrance of the university library. However, either students Library ID card or School ID card will be required to take full advantage of this service. This development is coming one week to the commencement of the Harmattan semester exams to enable students prepare adequately.
