OSCAR AWARDS (LAUTECH 2014): NOMINATION PROCESS & HOW WINNERS WILL EMERGE.

The "Outstanding Students' Choice Awards of Recognition", (Lautech 2014), being organized and sponsored by Ecstasy International, United Kingdom, in association with OscarNigeria, is an event expected to recognize distinguished students, groups, and brands at our Ogbomosho campus where over 60 students will emerge winners in different categories of the award. Nomination forms/tickets are available at Alata Milk & Honey (Under G) and this process ends on August 6, 2014.

While integrity is the watchword, the awards will be presented on merit based on the popular decision of the students in general.

All you need do is to get yourself, group(s), or brand(s) nominated in any of the categories you believe you have comparative or absolute advantage on and consequently obtain the nomination form. You have the chance to nominate yourself for as many award categories you think you worth. Meanwhile, as you get yourself, group(s), or brand(s) nominated, gets ready to forward us your picture(s), and the logo of your group(s) or brand(s).



There will be screening for nominees in a situation where there are more than 10 people who put in for the Award Category, and they'll be screened down to 10 nominees in such category. Final Nominees will be announced afterward. The pictures of final nominees of all the categories will be displayed on a monstrous and very gigantic banner that will be erected in front of the school gate so as to enable students to be acquainted with those who made the list in each of the over 60 award categories.


Electoral process will follow as each nominee will be allotted voting code which they are expected to share with the electorates who will subsequently vote for their favorites. These codes will also be made available at the polling centre for all electorates to see. Secret balloting is considered favourable to ensure that only those given the students mandate are awarded the OSCAR® plaque. Online and SMS voting methodology were dropped to avoid favouritism, manipulation and also to prevent external influence in the award process.


More so, the election will be held in the school premise, a strategic location to be precise; and this exercise will take 2 to 3 days which would give nominees a cool time advantage to get their supporters informed and also to vote enmasse for them. All students are eligible to vote for any of the nominees, provided they can present their school ID Card or any other school identification document or card e.g Library, Department, Faculty or union I.D card. Winners will emerge through the decision made by majority of the students.


Please note that we have a strong value of impartiality and integrity. The students' vote SHALL count, because that is what makes it OSCAR®.


The big event- 'LAUTECH Classy Dinner & Award Night' has been scheduled to take place on Friday, August 22nd and the event is expected to have high media presence of national dailies, TVs, and radio stations.
