LAUTECH resumption today did not go as planned; here's everything you need to know

An empty lecture theater in LAUTECH today

So, after much waiting to see what today, October 3 -- the day lectures were proposed to begin in LAUTECH -- would turn out like, students were faced with another disappointment.

It turns out lecturers have still not received their 'alert' and if you remember, they are firmly holding on to a 'no pay, no resumption' policy.

You should also note that the Chairman Governing Council of the institution, Prof. Dayo Afolabi had assured the lecturers that they would start receiving salaries from last Friday.

But in an exclusive interview with The NewsGuru today, the zonal coordinator for ASUU LAUTECH said:

“The two governors (Ajimobi and Aregbesola) promised to clear the salaries in tranches beginning from today. At the last meeting we held with the management, the information passed to us was that the money was still being expected from the governors. And as I speak to you now, (Tuesday), we are yet to receive any notification from the banks that the money has been paid."

However, there's still hope. The ASUU coordinator also said  although nothing has come in at the moment, the alert "might drop tomorrow."
