From January 27 to February 20; Are we being scammed by the school management?

It has been over two weeks since the resumption of academic activities in LAUTECH was announced by the school management, however, academic activities are yet to start in the institution.

Students resumed on the 27th of January with high hopes only to realise that the ASUU faction of the institution was still on strike.

All hopes that the issue would be resolved before February 13 was dampened as the examination timetable and order of arrangement was not even sent. And on top of it all, a notification of exam postponement was sent in on the 12th of February.

It all seems like the students are involved in a game of ping pong between the school management and ASUU. Even as the examinations has been postponed, it is still evident that examination would not hold on the 20th as ASUU has not officially called off their strike.

Exam timetable is yet to be sent out. School's library is yet to start 24hrs operations. Freshers verification would not end until the 24th which means 100-level students would not be able to use the ICT for exams.

In fact, there are speculations that the whole resumption announcement and examination date was only to shut the media and turn off attention from the crisis in the institution.

Was the January 27 resumption date really a scam just to shut the media up? Was it a plot to turn off the light of attention from LAUTECH crisis at the expense of the students?
